Job summary

SlingShot Connections is seeking a Pest Control Advisor to oversee pest control operations and provide integrated pest management guidance for organic and conventional vegetable production in California.

The ideal candidate holds a California PCA license, a bachelor's degree in Agricultural Sciences or related field, 3–5 years of vegetable experience, and preferably speaks Spanish. They will coordinate applicators, monitor pest trends, ensure regulatory compliance, and maintain documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Sciences or related field.
• Valid California PCA license.
• 3–5 years of experience in the vegetable industry.
• Thorough knowledge of agricultural pests and control methods in organic and conventional systems.
• Valid driver’s license with clean DMV record and insurance requirements.
• Spanish language fluency (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Oversee scouting, pest monitoring, and sampling to collect field intelligence.
• Develop pest control recommendations and track pest pressure trends.
• Ensure compliance with California DPR and applicable regulations.
• Coordinate treatment strategies between applicators and ranch managers.
• Ensure proper application of fertilizers and plant protection products.
• Process work orders and complete documentation including records and reports.
• Maintain pesticide handling, storage, and safety compliance.
• Participate in safety meetings and required training.
• Maintain communication with supervisors and growers.
• Accurately locate and verify application sites.

• Holds a valid California Agricultural Pest Control Adviser (PCA) License


• Has 3–5 years of experience in the vegetable industry


• Demonstrates thorough knowledge of agricultural pests and control methods in organic and conventional systems


• Has a valid driver’s license with a clean DMV record and meets insurance requirements


• Fluent in Spanish (preferred)
