Job summary

Ballantine Communications, Inc. (BCI) in Durango, CO is seeking a Perspectives Editor to lead community commentary and opinion journalism across Southwest Colorado and Northwest New Mexico.

You will curate guest columns, syndicated commentary, editorial cartoons and letters to the editor; recruit and facilitate a diverse BCI Editorial Board; develop balanced Point/Counterpoint features; write editorials on regional issues; and cultivate contributors representing a broad range of perspectives.

Qualifications

• Strong editorial, line-editing and AP style skills.
• Excellent writing ability and group facilitation experience.
• Spanish and audience analytics experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead community commentary and opinion journalism across Southwest Colorado and Northwest New Mexico.
