Personnel Security Specialist IV (Active TS with SCI Eligibility Clearance and Hybrid job)

RiverTech is seeking a Personnel Security Specialist IV to provide adjudication support for Federal Adjudicators, assisting in making suitability and national security recommendations in accordance with relevant Executive Orders (E.O.s), U.S. Code of Federal Regulations (CFRs), policies, orders, and guidelines. This is a hybrid role with an in-office requirement, so the selected hire will reside in the DC/MD/VA area.

Responsibilities
  1. Manage the review of systems, databases, security questionnaires, reports of investigation (ROI), law enforcement documents, incident reports, and other source security information related to candidates to make suitability, eligibility, and adjudication recommendations or determinations.
  2. Make recommendations based on regulations regarding whether an applicant meets the requirements for employment in sensitive or non-sensitive positions, adhering to all appropriate adjudicative guidelines.
  3. Assist with implementing operational policies, procedures, programs, and standards to ensure the efficient and effective operation of the trusted workforce, including the Continuous Evaluation Program, continuous vetting, and RAPBACK.
  4. Support Federal staff in developing and implementing Standard Operating Procedures.
  5. Implement existing security directives and collaborate with senior security specialists to resolve complex security issues, including providing solutions and follow-up communications.
  6. Contribute to initiatives aimed at improving functional and automated processes within the subdivision.
Qualifications
  1. High School diploma or GED at minimum.
  2. Top-Secret clearance with SCI eligibility.
  3. At least 6 years of personnel security experience.
  4. Proven experience in rendering adjudicative decisions or recommendations.
  5. Expert knowledge of or familiarity with government policies and regulations governing security suitability and eligibility, such as Federal Investigative Standards (FIS), E.O.s 12968, 13526, 10450, CFRs, SEADs, ICD 704, or other guidelines.
  6. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other computer skills.
  7. Excellent written and oral communication skills, along with risk management and problem-solving abilities.
Physical Demands
  • Work is performed in an office environment.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, sit, talk, and hear, both in person and via telephone.
  • Regularly required to stoop, kneel, bend, crouch, and lift up to 25 pounds.
