Position Title: Personnel Security Specialist III

Reports To: Program Manager

Clearance Type: Active Top Secret/SCI (willing to take CI Poly)

Work Location: National Capital Region

Start Date: On Contract Award

Job Description: Advantage SCI is accepting applications to support a federal agency personnel security program.

Summary of Duties Include But Not Limited To:

• Provide research and analysis into complex problems and processes with minimal direction.
• Serve as an expert on project teams.
• Review and analyze requests concerning security clearances, reciprocity, violations, and assessments.
• Review investigative files and related material.
• Conduct Personnel Security Interviews (PSIs) as determined during investigations.
• Prepare detailed analyses of all information developed.
• Conduct security briefings, including Security Awareness and Hostile Threat.
• Assist in reviewing statements of personal history before background investigations.
• Conduct Background Investigations (BIs) for positions requiring security clearance or suitability determination.
• Prepare investigation reports and summaries.
• Perform duties of Personnel Security Specialist II as needed, including checks, coordination, and assessments.

Required Experience:

• Current TOP SECRET clearance; SCI eligible; willing to pass CI polygraph.
• Bachelor’s Degree with 2 years or Associate’s Degree with 4 years of experience; or 8 years of law enforcement experience if no degree.
• At least 4 years developing and writing Reports of Investigation.
• 6 years in personnel security investigative or analyst roles.
• Experience interpreting database checks and developing investigative leads.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and federal investigative IT systems.
• Strong analytical, communication, and administrative skills.

Desired Qualifications:

• Experience conducting interviews, briefings, and preparing analyses.
• Knowledge of security investigation standards and guidelines, including FISs, SEADs, EO, US CFR, and Vetting Programs.

Working Conditions:

• Extended periods at a computer.
• Physical ability to perform tasks including lifting up to 50 pounds.
