Job summary

The Aerospace Corporation seeks a Personnel Security Specialist II/III to manage government program protections, conduct security briefings, and oversee clearance processing. The role interfaces with government customers and internal teams, ensuring compliance with DoD and corporate policies.

Candidates should have DoD Secret clearance, U.S. citizenship, and experience with security databases; TS/SCI eligibility is a plus for higher levels.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent with 2 years of security-related experience emphasizing customer service, case management, and policy enforcement.
• Current DoD Secret clearance with ability to obtain and maintain TS/SCI.
• U.S. citizenship required to obtain security clearance.
• For Personnel Security Specialist III: 5 years of security-related experience with emphasis on customer service, case management and policy enforcement.
• Knowledge of DISS or other government clearance databases.

Responsibilities

• Administers, executes, and ensures adherence to company and government regulations, policies, and procedures regarding protection of government programs.
• Conducts security indoctrination and foreign travel briefings and termination debriefings.
• Assists in designing, implementing, and conducting security training, briefings, and education programs.
• Works on various complex government and internal databases.
• Processes security clearances and accesses in accordance with government regulations, provides guidance on completing security paperwork, and tracks all clearance submissions.
• Provides management with clearance status reports.
• Conducts fingerprinting, processes visit requests, and reports incidents to government customers.
• Maintains security clearance records, tracking and metrics.
• Interfaces with government customers, contractors, employees, and all levels of management.
• Handles Personal Identifiable Information (PII) and must possess discretion in handling clearance information.
• Conducts self-inspections/audits in compliance with government regulations.
• Submits incident reports to government customers, provides guidance on reporting responsibilities, and assists employees with clearance issues.
• Updates and writes procedures and corporate policies.

What You’ll Be Doing

What You Need to be Successful

Minimum Requirements for the Personnel Security Specialist II:

• High School Diploma or equivalent and 2 years of experience security related field or other related fields with an emphasis on customer service, case management, and enforcement of policies and procedures.
• Current DoD Secret clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI.
• U.S. citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.
• Knowledge of government security regulations
• Knowledge of handling sensitive but unclassified information

In addition to the above, the minimum requirements for the Personnel Security Specialist III include:

• 5 years of experience in security related field or other related fields with an emphasis on customer service, case management, and enforcement of policies and procedures.
• Knowledge of DISS or other government clearance databases

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree
• Current TS/SCI eligibility, with adjudicated poly
• Completion of the FSO certification for Possessing facilities
• Knowledge of DISS, NBIS, and SIMS, databases
