Job summary

Herring Bank in Amarillo, TX is seeking a Trust Officer I or II to join our Wealth Management – Personal Trust team. You will administer or assist with personal trust accounts, including revocable and irrevocable trusts, estates, IRAs, and other fiduciary arrangements, while delivering client-centered service.

The level will be determined by your trust experience; the role may involve non-traditional assets and coordination with attorneys, advisors, and staff to ensure compliant, accurate

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 2+ years of trust experience, OR a high school diploma or equivalent and 7+ years of trust experience.
• Strong analytical, organizational, decision-making, and time-management skills.
• Effective written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision while managing multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Administer or assist with the administration of an assigned portfolio of personal trust accounts.
• Serve as primary or secondary contact for clients, beneficiaries, and attorneys.
• Prepare and review account opening documents and related paperwork.
• Review trust instruments, tax forms, and related documentation.
• Process distributions and account transactions per governing documents.
• Monitor liquidity to support distributions and tax obligations.
• Track important dates and deadlines (RMDs, filings).
• Coordinate information for fiduciary tax returns and audits.
• Maintain documentation for non-traditional assets and illiquid assets.
• Collaborate with Wealth Management team on investment suitability and client service.
