Job summary

Heart of the Valley YMCA in Huntsville, AL is seeking a fitness-oriented team member to promote the YMCA mission, ensure a safe and positive atmosphere, and recruit and manage personal training clients while delivering member orientations and coordinating events. A High School Diploma or equivalent is required; current CPR and nationally accredited Personal Trainer certification are required.

Responsibilities

• Communicate and promote the YMCA Mission, goals and objectives to employees, volunteers and the community at large.
• Promote a safe and positive atmosphere during scheduled working hours.
• Identifies and resolves problem areas to ensure member satisfaction
• Assists all fitness staff to ensure proper implementation of fitness programs
• Provide members with ActiveTrax Orientations.
• Responsible for recruiting new personal training clients and managing existing clients
• Provides consistent member involvement activities for new and existing members.
• Act as a liaison for members and YMCA Directors.
• Assists Fitness Supervisor in organizing special events at the branch and other locations as deemed necessary.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment
• Responsible for following scheduled appointments.
• Responsible for any other duties as assigned by the branch Fitness Supervisor

Job Location: Huntsville, AL 35803Salary Range: $15.00 - $20.00 Hourly

TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS

This position requires the individual to perform a broad range of activities and duties needing full range of motion, including manual and finger dexterity and hand and eye coordination. The position requires corrected vision, speech and hearing to normal range, or special accommodations made of sufficient nature for completion of assigned tasks. Requires seated work at a desk, including use of a computer, and the ability to lift 30 pounds, bend, stand, and walk for extended periods of time. The position also requires the ability to drive and occasionally requires working under stressful conditions or working irregular hours.
