Job summary

Edge Fitness Clubs in Shelton, CT is seeking motivated Certified Personal Trainers who can design and deliver safe, results-driven programs tailored to each client’s goals, while delivering outstanding service on the gym floor.

You’ll conduct fitness consultations, assessments, and goal-setting sessions, maintain client records, build a personal training client base, and promote Edge programs to help grow the business and achieve monthly targets.

Qualifications

• Certified Personal Trainer with NASM/ACE/ISSA/NSCA or equivalent (within 6 months)
• CPR/AED certification; specialty certs a plus
• Energetic, motivational, professional; strong customer service
• Strong knowledge of fitness, program design, cardio, nutrition, safe exercise
• Competencies: client focus, initiative, technical/professional knowledge

What You’ll Need:

• Certified Personal Trainer (1+ certification; NASM, ACE, ISSA, or NSCA within 6 months of hire)
• CPR/AED certified; specialty certifications a plus
• Energetic, motivational, and professional with excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
• Strong knowledge of fitness, program design, cardiovascular training, nutrition, and safe exercise techniques
• Competencies: Client Focus, Initiative, Technical/Professional Knowledge, and skills

Key Details:

• Work in a dynamic health club environment with members, staff, and vendors
• Perform class-length aerobic activity and lift up to 50–100 lbs while moving safely
• Frequent standing, walking, reaching, climbing, balancing, sitting, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling
• Vision required for close, distant, and depth perception, with ability to adjust focus
• No travel required
• Part‑time, non‑exempt position with varied hours, including nights and weekends
• No supervisory responsibilities
