Job summary

Goodwin Living, a nonprofit senior living and healthcare organization based in Alexandria, Virginia, seeks a motivated group fitness leader to oversee and deliver exercise programs for residents and clients.

You will lead group classes and provide 1:1 personal training, collaborating with the Program Director and supporting community programming offerings. Certifications and 1–2 years of relevant experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; Bachelor's degree preferred in kinesiology/biology or related field.
• 1-2 years of related experience or equivalent education/experience combination.
• Current certification in ACE, NASM, ACSM, or NSCA is required/kept up to date.

Responsibilities

• Lead group exercise classes for residents and clients.
• Provide 1:1 personal training sessions as needed.
• Assist Program Director in supportive department projects.
• Support community programming and educational events.
• Teach group classes in care centers and AL/IL buildings as needed.

Salary

$30-$35 hour

About The Position

Lead group exercise classes and provide personal training sessions as needed.

Job Duties

• Assist the Program Director(s) in projects that support the department.
• Support Community Programming by participating in various educational/exercise themed events.
• Provide 1:1 personal training sessions with clients
• Teach group exercise classes in health care center and AL/IL building as needed

Job Requirements

• Basic Education: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); preferred education requirement: Bachelor's degree in kinesiology, biology or similar; Pre-PT or Pre-OT student preferred
• Experience: 1-2 years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Personal training certification through ACE, NASM, ACSM, or NSCA that is kept up to date
