Job summary

Cogir Senior Living seeks compassionate Personal Support Workers to join our nationwide network of retirement residences. We offer wage per hour $20.13, onboarding and training, competitive pay and benefits, and a supportive team focused on resident-centered care.

As part of our multi-disciplinary team, PSWs deliver daily living assistance, hygiene, mobility support and companionship while maintaining meticulous documentation and communication with clinical leads.

Qualifications

• Personal Support Worker Certification from a certified educational facility OR internationally educated nurse.
• Strong drive, respect and an understanding of the emotional and physical demands of the role.
• Focus on teamwork and customer service with the ability to build trusted relationships.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Demonstrated organizational and time management skills.
• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support and First Aid certification required.
• Vulnerable Sector Check within six months or willingness to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Provide ambulatory support, personal hygiene, companionship and nutritional support.
• Deliver personalized activities of daily living as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
• Document task completion on an electronic health record platform and communicate changes to clinical leads.

How YOU make a difference

PSWs support and deliver on all personalized activities of daily living that meet our resident’s needs. This includes ambulatory support, personal hygiene, companionship and nutritional support. PSWs are an integral part of our multi-disciplinary team who build trusted relationships with our residents, families and teams with continuous ongoing and effective communication. Our PSWs document the completion of tasks on an electronic health record platform throughout their shift and are able to quickly identify and communicate changes in resident care needs to our clinical leads.

• Personal Support Worker Certification from a certified educational facility OR internationally educated nurse
• Strong drive, respect and an understanding of the emotional and physical demands of the role
• Focus on teamwork and customer service with the ability to build trusted relationships
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Demonstrated organizational and time management skills
• Volunteer/working experience in a Senior Living setting is an asset, not required
• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support and First Aid certification required
• Current (within six months) Vulnerable Sector Check (including a Criminal Background Check) or be willing to obtain one
