MaineTouch LLC is seeking Personal Support Specialists (PSS) to provide in-home non-medical care to adults and seniors in Maine. Training and ongoing support are provided, with opportunities for certification and career growth.

Role emphasizes one-on-one client support, independence, and adherence to care plans, while maintaining confidentiality and safety. Flexible scheduling and mileage reimbursement offered where applicable.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 17 years of age.
• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Active PSS certification in the State of Maine, or enroll in training within 60 days of hire.
• CNA (active/inactive) accepted.
• No experience required—training and support provided.
• Must not be listed on the Maine CNA/Direct Care Worker Registry with substantiated findings.
• Ability to work independently, physically able to assist with mobility and daily activities.
• Strong communication skills and access to a working cell phone for scheduling/documentation.
• Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license preferred (assignment dependent).

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with personal care tasks (bathing, dressing, grooming, oral care, toileting).
• Support mobility and transfers with/without aids.
• Help with light housekeeping, laundry, dishes, and changing bed linens.
• Assist with meal prep, serving, shopping, and errands per care plan.
• Provide companionship and support daily routines or hobbies.
• Observe and report changes in client condition or safety concerns to supervisor.
• Complete required documentation accurately and on time.

Job Description / Duties

Personal Support Specialists (PSS) provide hands-on, non-medical support to older adults and individuals with disabilities to help them live safely and comfortably in their homes or residential settings. Services are provided according to each client's authorized plan of care and MaineTouch guidelines.

As a PSS, you will:

• Assist clients with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, grooming, oral care, toileting, and basic hygiene

• Support clients with mobility and transfers, including safe movement with or without mobility aids

• Help with household tasks related to care, including light housekeeping, laundry, dishes, and changing bed linens

• Assist with meal preparation, meal serving, grocery shopping, and errands as outlined in the care plan

• Provide companionship and conversation and support daily routines or hobbies

• Observe and report changes in a client's condition or safety concerns to your supervisor

• Follow all instructions and perform only tasks listed in the client's service plan

• Complete required documentation accurately and on time

• Follow infection control and safety guidelines during all client interactions

• Maintain client confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA and MaineTouch policies

• Respond appropriately to emergencies and report incidents immediately

• Treat all clients with dignity and respect

• Maintain dependable attendance and follow assigned schedules

• Follow all MaineTouch policies and procedures and participate in required training
