United-Insurance in Presque Isle, ME, is hiring a Personal Lines Associate to support Account Managers with exceptional customer service and accurate transactions. You will prepare proposals, manage policy documents, and help clients with IDs, binders, renewals, and billing while maintaining strong team relations.

Ideal candidates demonstrate organization, communication, and a willingness to obtain P&C licensing within 90 days.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Obtain state P&C licensing within 90 days of employment.
  • Organized with multitasking and time management skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Excellent oral and written communication and customer relations.

Responsibilities

  • Support Personal Lines Account Manager(s) and deliver excellent customer service.
  • Process transactions according to agency workflows and prepare proposals.
  • Build strong relationships with team members, carriers, clients, and community.
  • Answer calls, handle mail, and manage inquiries for IDs, binders, cancellations, and billing.
  • Enter quotes into PL Rater and prepare quote proposals for clients.
  • Assist with documentation in EPIC and track activities/notes.
  • Cover for Account Managers when they are out of the office as licensed.
  • Contribute to workflow improvements and ongoing learning.

Description

The Personal Lines Associate works to support the Personal Lines Account Manager(s) by delivering excellent customer service, processes transactions according to agency defined workflows, prepares proposals, and builds strong relationships with team members, carrier, clients, and our community.

Essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
  • Establish and maintain a positive team-oriented relationship with colleagues.
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures for workflow and documentation.
  • Screen and answer incoming calls - assist and forward as appropriate.
  • Review and process mail using personnel and procedures in place for support. Check incoming faxes and distribute as needed.
  • Respond to daily telephone calls and requests for: ID cards, Binder, BOR, cancellations and reinstatements, payments, billing issues.
  • Support our Agency objective to deliver excellent customer service by processing transactions according to our agency defined workflows, such as policy retrieval, renewals, endorsements, policy changes, loss runs requests, and other similar transactions.
  • Assist Account Managers in their efforts to document client and carrier interactions by attaching files to EPIC and updating activities/notes according to our agency defined workflows.
  • Contribute to the enhancement of workflow documentation and process improvement.
  • Develop expertise in the EPIC system.
  • Respond to requests from team members in a timely and professional manner.
  • Expand knowledge of insurance coverages and grow both personally and professionally.
  • Communicate quotes to Account Manager(s) regarding costs, consequences, and obligations.
  • Act as a gatekeeper of information by escalating requests to Account Manager(s) when necessary. Responding to client or carrier needs, as directed by Account Manager(s) while providing excellent service.
  • Provide excellent service to our customers, carriers, and team members.
  • Enter quotes into online rating platforms (PL Rater) for Account Manager(s).
  • Prepare quote proposals for Account Manager(s) to present to clients.
  • Once licensed, cover for Account Manager(s) when they are out of the office.
  • Meet or exceed expectations of job responsibilities.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Prior experience in related field preferred, but not required.
  • Highschool diploma or equivalent
  • Obtain state P&C licensing within 90 days of employment.
  • Organized, ability to multitask, and time management skills
  • Self-motivated
  • Proficient utilizing desktop applications such as MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent customer relationship skills
  • Positive, friendly, and professional attitude

Compensation: $35,000 - $45,000 annually, plus commission on new business.

The anticipated starting salary for this position is based on several factors, including the candidate's experience, skills, education, certifications, location, and internal equity.
