Job summary

Mountain West Insurance & Financial Services in Steamboat Springs, CO is seeking a Personal Lines Account Manager to support the Personal Lines Department with essential duties including policy administration, carrier communications, and data maintenance.

The ideal candidate will hold or be willing to obtain a Colorado insurance license, demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication, teamwork and independent work capability, and commit to meeting deadlines in a professional office

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must maintain an insurance license as mandated by state law.
• Experience in insurance sales or customer service preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain understanding of carrier and agency change procedures and industry specifics.
• Review reports in the Agency Management System for data maintenance.
• Manage follow-ups generated in the Agency Management System.
• Cultivate quality relationships with carriers and coworkers.
• Ensure accurate documentation in the Agency Management System.
• Adhere to agency procedures and regulations to ensure compliance.
• Attend mandatory agency meetings, seminars, and conferences.
• Acquire the required insurance license and complete continuing education.
• Communicate clearly with coworkers and management.
• Document processing of policy changes, cancellations, and claim payments.
• Review expiration report to address missed or inactive policies.
• Perform additional functions as assigned by management.

As our Personal Lines Account Manager, you will provide essential support to the Personal Lines Department by performing the following essential duties.

Performance Expectations/Responsibilities

• Maintain a thorough understanding of all carrier and agency change procedures, as well as industry specifics.
• Regularly review daily, weekly, and monthly reports provided by the department manager related to data maintenance in the Agency Management System.
• Effectively manage follow-ups generated in the Agency Management System.
• Cultivate and sustain quality relationships with carriers and coworkers.
• Ensure accurate documentation is maintained in the Agency Management System.
• Adhere to agency procedures and regulations to ensure compliance.
• Attend mandatory agency meetings and external functions, seminars, and conferences.
• Acquire the required insurance license and complete necessary continuing education to maintain license eligibility.
• Communicate clearly and concisely with coworkers and management.
• Document the processing of policy changes, cancellations, and claim payments.
• Review the expiration report for the department to address any missed or inactive policies and client accounts.
• Perform additional functions as assigned by management.

Compensation & Benefits

• $19- $28per hour

Education/Training Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Proficiency in utilizing a desktop or laptop computer, calculator, agency management system, and all Microsoft products, including but not limited to Word, Excel, and Outlook, is essential.
• Must maintain an insurance license as mandated by the Colorado State Department of Insurance and Mountain West Insurance & Financial Services, LLC

Preferred Experience

• Previous experience in insurance sales and insurance customer service
• Prior experience in general sales and general customer service

Work Environment/Physical Demands

• Extended periods of sitting at a desk while using a computer and other office equipment.
• Repetitive motion tasks, such as typing, data entry, and phone use.
• Occasional lifting of files or other materials, typically weighing up to 20 pounds.
• Ability to move freely around the office space to collaborate with colleagues or access office resources.
• Visual acuity to read documents, screens, and fine print on documents.
• Manual dexterity to operate office equipment and handle paperwork efficiently.
• Ability to maintain focus and attention to detail in a sometimes fast paced and multitasking environment.
• The office environment typically has a moderate noise level consistent with a professional office setting.
• Some travel may be required for this position, primarily for attending training sessions, conferences, or meetings with clients or stakeholders. A valid driver's license and reliable transportation may be necessary for travel to off-site locations.
