We are seeking an Account Manager to join our growing Personal Lines team! In this role, you will assist Account Managers and our Producer in servicing assigned Personal Lines accounts in accordance with the company's practices, policies, and procedures, while supporting client retention, maintaining strong carrier relationships, and delivering exceptional day-to-day service.
Responsibilities
- Manage a book of insurance business, acting with independent discretion and decision‑making.
- Provide professional, courteous service to clients, carrier representatives, underwriters, business partners, and HUB colleagues.
- Handle account rounding and develop new business in accordance with standard practices, policies, and procedures.
- Make major decisions independently on the book for which you are responsible.
- Oversee the preparation and implementation of all transactions, paperwork, and internal processing for assigned accounts.
- Acquire understanding of clients’ insurance objectives and critically analyze and compare insurance plans to determine suitability.
- Stay abreast of changes in the insurance industry and other external conditions that may impact clients; make appropriate recommendations.
- Act as liaison between clients and carriers to resolve escalated complex service issues requiring policy interpretation and judgment.
- Negotiate with underwriters and carriers when necessary.
- Troubleshoot claims and billing issues.
- Ensure overall retention of accounts in assigned book of business.
- Develop new business from existing accounts and assigned leads, contributing to departmental production goals and identifying cross‑selling opportunities.
- Manage, organize, and conduct client meetings when necessary.
- Document conversations and update all HUB computer systems and automated agency management systems, ensuring data accuracy.
- Travel on company business as required.
- Prepare reports for management as required.
- Attend industry‑related continuing education training and courses.
Qualifications
- 2–5 years of experience in insurance account management.
- Prior agency/brokerage experience preferred.
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Current license in good standing in required lines and states.
- Current CE credits in required lines and states.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Superior customer service and problem‑solving skills.
- Proficiency with computer systems, including Microsoft Office and automated agency management systems.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced, team environment.
