Job summary

Cross Keys Village - The Brethren Home Community is seeking Personal Care Attendants, Certified Nursing Assistants and Med Techs. On-the-job training is provided as part of a structured career ladder across tiers from Non-Certified Caregiver to Lead Personal Care Attendant or CNA/Med Tech trained.

We offer part-time Day and Evening shifts, with weekend/holiday rotations; on-call positions are also available.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Prior experience with older adults preferred.
• Compassionate communication with residents, families, team members.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care to residents across functional levels, including hygiene, bathing, dressing, incontinence, and device care.
• Assist with meals and general housekeeping duties.
• Observe and report changes to nursing staff; participate in care plan reviews.
• Document care in electronic care tracker.
• Maintain safety and sanitation standards; treat residents with respect.

Cross Keys Village offers on-the-job training for those who are passionate about caring for older adults, with the opportunity to climb a “career ladder.” Such goals can be achieved by following the example below:

• Tier 1 – Personal Care Attendant (Non-Certified Caregiver)
  (minimum high school diploma or equivalent – training will be provided on the job). This is ideal if you have little or no prior experience, or if you have had some caregiving experience at home
• Tier 2 – Personal Care Attendant -Med Tech
  (in-house training is offered to pass medications and provide treatment to residents)
• Tier 3 – Resident Assistant (Certified Nursing Assistant – CNA class/PA certified)
• Tier 4 – Resident Assistant - Med Tech (Certified Nursing Assistant and Med Tech trained)
  (Certified Nursing Assistant and Med Tech trained)
• Tier 5 – Lead Personal Care Attendant or Resident Assistant
• Tier 6 – LPN
  (Tuition Assistance may be offered to qualified team members)

Our current needs include:

• Part-time Day Shift: 6:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. 60hours every two weeks. Weekend and holiday rotation required.
  • This position is eligiblefor full-time benefits!
• Part-time Evening Shift: 2:30 p.m. - 10:30 p.m. 37.5 hours every two weeks. Weekend and holiday rotation required.
• On‑call positions: As needed, with the flexibility to work days, evenings, nights, and weekends.

Job Description:

As a Personal Care Attendant or Certified Nursing Assistant working in Personal Care, your scope of responsibilities will include but is not limited to:

• Providing direct care to residents with a variety of functional levels; from those who are alert, oriented, and relatively independent, to those who need assistance with several activities of daily living or those who require cuing due to cognitive impairment. Personal Care services include, but are not limited to, assistance with hygiene, bathing, dressing, incontinence management, applying/removing medical devices, and care of clothing.
• Assisting residents with general housekeeping duties as well as serving and monitoring meals.
• Participating in the review/revision of resident support plans and family meetings.
• Observing and reporting changes in residents to nursing supervisors.
• Documenting provided care in electronic care tracker.
• Treating residents with respect in accordance with the resident’s Bill of Rights.
• Maintaining safety and sanitation standards.

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Prior experience working with older adults is preferred.
• Must possess a compassionate style of communicating with residents, families, team members and guests of CKV.
