Maxim Healthcare is seeking a Personal Care Assistant in California to provide support services for clients’ personal and mobility needs in home or school settings.

Responsibilities include helping with daily activities, health care tasks, hygiene, transfers, and companionship while maintaining confidentiality and coordinating with caregivers and health professionals. Requires state licensure or certification and a current BLS card.

Competenze

• State licensure or certification as required by state and/or program.
• One year relevant experience preferred.
• Current BLS Card.
• Current PPD or Chest X-Ray.
• Knowledge of child growth and development.
• Ability to coordinate and facilitate services between home, school, local health agency and other community resources.
• Ability to effectively elicit/provide information to/from appropriate individuals; English may be required.
• Computer proficiency required.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.

Mansioni

• Provides services to persons who need help with day-to-day activities.
• Demonstrates competence in performing the necessary skills and perform those skills on the plan of care.
• Provides health care tasks, personal hygiene services, and other related support services essential to the client’s health.
• Assists with transfers and ambulation.
• Aids teacher in helping student learn and provides feedback to student and supervisors/teachers (if applicable).
• Performs incidental household services that are an integral part of a personal care plan (if applicable).
• In school setting, accompanies student on bus to and from school (if applicable).
• Provides companionship by reading, listening and talking with client.
• May assist in supervision of students during recess and lunch periods and accompany student on community experiences.
• Strictly adheres to confidentiality requirements.
• Assists client in the development of independent skills through self-care activities such as toileting, clothing routines and personal hygiene.
• Implements behavior management techniques in accordance with directions from supervisor; reinforces appropriate behaviors.
• Appropriately reports changes in client status or as directed by care plan.
• Maintains confidentiality of all information pertaining to clients, families and employees.
• Adheres to HIPAA privacy policies and procedures.
• Performs other duties as assigned/necessary.
