Job summary

Kaweah Health is seeking a compassionate care aide to assist clients with daily living, follow care plans, and help maintain a safe home environment. You will support nutrition, mobility, and comfort under supervision across Visalia-area services. Requires CNA/MA/HHA certification or LVN/RN coursework, plus a background check and Live Scan.

Valid CA driver license is needed. Pay ranges from $20.00 to $30.00 per hour for part-time, 12.5-hour shifts.

Qualifications

• Must complete a CNA/MA/HHA program or one semester of LVN/RN coursework.
• Background check, Live Scan fingerprints and CA licensing requirements.
• CA Driver's License/ID must be valid.

Responsibilities

• Assist client/patient with personal care per care plan, incl. toileting, ambulation and transfers.
• Support nutrition through meal planning, shopping, preparation and service per dietary needs.
• Provide household services to maintain a safe, hygienic environment and report changes to supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS

• License /Certification Required: HeartSaver AED Medication technician certificate within two weeks of hire/transfer.
• Education Required: Completion of a Certified Nursing Assistant class, Medical Assistant class, Home Health Aide class, or one semester of LVN or RN in recent past; OR prior experience as a personal care aide in a formal setting.
• Experience Preferred: Previous experience preferred.
• Testing Must be registered with CA Department of Social Services Community Care Licensing Division.
• This includes a background check, valid California Driver's License/California State I.D card, Live Scan fingerprints and fees provided by Kaweah Health.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Essential Assists client/patient with personal care according to the care plan to achieve established goals. Assists with toilet needs and ambulation and transfer of the patient/client. Supports the patient/client's nutrition through meal planning, purchasing groceries, preparing and serving food according to dietary needs. Provides household services deemed necessary to maintain a safe, hygienic environment. Performs special procedures when formally trained to do so, under the direction and authority of the supervisor, within scope of practice. Reports pertinent information, including changes in condition/problems to the supervisor. Maintains continuity of care through the support of the home care team. Provides exceptional level of care with compassion and sensitivity to those nearing the end of life’s journey. Administers medications as directed by the Medication Administration Record only after certification is obtained. Additional Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care and services appropriate to the population served on the assigned unit or work area. Knowledgeable of growth and development for all patient/family cultural, linguistic, spiritual, gender, and age specific needs. Able to effectively communicate and care for patient and family as reflected in the Plan for Provision of Care. Performs other duties as assigned.

Pay Range $20.00 -$30.00
