Job summary

A home healthcare provider in Virginia is seeking a Personal Care Aide to provide compassionate care to patients in their homes. You will assist with daily living activities under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, engage patients meaningfully, and ensure safety and comfort. As a Personal Care Aide, you will play a vital role in supporting patients with daily living needs while working under the supervision of a Registered Nurse and in accordance with physician orders and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities
  • Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, eating, transferring, and mobility
  • Engage patients in meaningful conversation, companionship, and social interaction
  • Respond promptly to patient needs and requests for care
  • Observe and report changes in physical, emotional, or mental condition to a licensed nurse
  • Complete required documentation, including incident reports and change-of-condition reports
  • Prepare and serve meals; assist with eating (excluding tube feeding)
  • Support self-administration of medications as directed
  • Change bed linens and maintain a clean, safe immediate living environment (bedroom and bathroom)
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • CPR certification preferred
  • Previous experience working with elderly individuals in a residential, long-term care, or home health setting preferred
  • Compassionate, dependable, and patient-centered mindset
