Job summary

Addus HomeCare is recruiting a Personal Care Aide in Daphne, AL. You will support seniors and individuals with disabilities living independently, following care plans and assisting with daily activities.

Qualifications

  • Must be 18 years of age.
  • Must be a Certified Home Health or Personal Care Aide.
  • Pre-employment physical examination/PPD before patient contact.
  • Criminal background check required.
  • Reliable transportation with valid driver’s license and proof of insurance if driving.
  • Nurturing and compassionate nature with desire to care for others.
  • Ability to work with limited supervision and follow written/verbal instructions.
  • Good communication and people skills.
  • Reliable, energetic, self-motivated and well organized.

Responsibilities

  • Follow care plans for clients and report completed tasks.
  • Assist with personal care needs (bathing, dressing, etc.).
  • Provide or assist in routine house cleaning, meal preparation, and laundry.
  • Run essential errands.
  • Assist client with self-administration of medications.
  • Observe and report changes in client’s condition.
  • Maintain confidentiality due to access to sensitive information.
  • Maintain regular attendance and be flexible to department needs.
  • Follow Medicare, Medicaid, and HIPAA regulations and requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Essential Duties
  • Follow specific care plans for clients and report on completed tasks.
  • Assist with personal care needs of the client (bathing, dressing, etc.).
  • Provide or assist in routine house cleaning, meal preparation, and laundry.

  • Observe and report any changes in client's condition.
  • Always maintain a high degree of confidentiality due to access to sensitive information.
  • Maintain regular, predictable, consistent attendance and is flexible to meet the needs of the department.
  • Follow all Medicare, Medicaid, and HIPAA regulations and requirements.
  • Abide by all regulations, policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
