The Personal Banker assists customers by knowing the products and services the bank offers that best meet their needs. The role involves greeting and assisting them with transactions while connecting them to other department experts as needed. Candidates should have banking experience or significant experience in a regulated industry with strong customer relationship skills and an understanding of products and services that best assist customers.
Salary: $23.45/hour minimum, plus 10% differential. The payment schedule is competitive and commensurate with experience.
Schedule: Monday‑Friday
Responsible for welcoming customers to the branch and delivering consistent and exceptional customer service through engagement. The Personal Banker builds and deepens relationships by uncovering banking needs and recommending appropriate products, services, and solutions. The role may include coaching and mentoring branch employees and working closely with the Branch Manager or Operations Supervisor to ensure operational controls and daily branch functions are completed.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Minimum: Two years of customer service experience with at least one year of relationship development experience in the financial industry; or three years of relational sales experience. Preferred: Knowledge of First National Bank Alaska products and services.
SKILLS and ABILITIES: Knowledge of personal computer operation, ability to keyboard 35 wpm and operate a 10‑key calculator. Word processing and spreadsheet experience preferred. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, discretion, good judgment, integrity, and ethical conduct with confidentiality.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations, and standard banking services contracts. Ability to write reports, correspondence, and present information effectively.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to calculate figures such as discounts, interest, commissions, percentages, fractions, ratios, and proportions.
REASONING SKILLS: Ability to solve practical problems, define issues, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions while interpreting instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
