Job summary

STAR Financial Bank in Indiana seeks an in-person Personal Banker to process transactions, assist customers, and open new accounts. You will balance cash, handle payments, and promote STAR products while maintaining compliance with banking policies.

The role requires 1 year of teller or personal banking experience, a high school diploma, and strong customer service and computer skills. Local travel to Marion, Fishers, or Fort Wayne may occur. Remote work is not available.

The Personal Banker position is included in a workplace model that does not allow remote work.

As a Personal Banker, essential responsibilities include:
  • Process and validate a variety of financial transactions, including accepting and dispensing cash, cashing checks and other instruments, and maintaining accurate records of same.
  • Communicate with customers and potential customers to gather information for the evaluation of needs and recommending STAR’s products and services to fit those needs.
  • Accept loan, credit card, and other payments.
  • Accurately balance and maintain cash drawer.
  • Initiate new accounts.
  • Evaluate and respond timely to customer issues, through direct personal action or referral to proper source.
  • Provide customers with account-based information and assist with other services.
  • Maintain and update knowledge relating to bank products, services and procedures.
  • Adhere to and apply all operational policies and procedures.
  • Complete annual compliance training.
  • Selected candidates are intended to become a Personal Banker II after 90 days of employment and must complete all certification requirements.

  • Proficiency in computer skills, including Windows-based systems.

Schedule Needs

The Personal Banker role requires approximately 38.5 hours per week, scheduled between 8:30am and 5:15pm, Monday through Friday, with a rotating Saturday shift from 8:45am to 12:15pm. On weeks you're scheduled to work Saturday, you'll receive a shortened workday that week.

Assignments or training sessions may be held at various locations, such as Marion, Fishers, and Fort Wayne.
