Job summary

OceanFirst Bank in New York seeks an experienced Teller to accurately process routine financial transactions while delivering personalized service and supporting branch sales goals.

You will greet customers, balance cash drawer, handle deposits and withdrawals, promote banking products, provide notary services if licensed, and assist with branch operations. Bilingual English and Cantonese or Mandarin is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• 2-3 years’ experience in a direct customer service capacity, with 1-year prior cash handling, preferably in a retail banking environment, teller related experience preferred.
• Prior experience in sales capacity, preferably in a retail banking environment.
• Preferred bilingual in English and Cantonese or Mandarin.

Responsibilities

• Greets customers warmly and professionally; assists new and existing customers to select appropriate products and services.
• Balances and proves cash drawer; handles deposits, withdrawals, loan payments and other teller transactions.
• Daily outbound calling to promote Bank, Wealth and NEST products and services; meets sales goals.
• Proactively sells all Bank products to deepen and preserve relationships.
• Provides notary services if licensed and supports branch operations as directed.
