Personal Bankers engage clients in deeper conversations to uncover needs and provide guidance and solutions to assist in client's financial wellness both in person and through proactive calling efforts. As part of the branch team, the Personal Banker will work toward attracting new clients to Key and work with existing clients to develop and expand relationships based on their unique financial goals, leading to client confidence in their finances. The Personal Banker is a client first, sales-driven, self-motivated, and competitive individual. We take pride in serving our clients and making them feel that no bank will fight harder for them.Essential FunctionsEmbodies a strong client experience culture, being present with every client and teammate and realizing the impact we can have on their day, personally, professionally, and financially.Listen for clues for financial wellness opportunities during in-person and over the phone client conversations and provide effective and customized financial wellness recommendations to clients.Consistently attains individual activity, behavior, and outcome goals and expectations.Opening personal and business accounts (consumer checking, small business, various deposit products, home equity, unsecured lending, certificates of deposit, etc.).Developing strong partnerships with branch teammates and line of business partners – focusing on client acquisition and deepening the relationship of current clients; effectively managing internal and external centers of influence.Ensuring compliance with operational, risk, security and audit procedures and policies including appropriate documentation of client interactions.Support of branch operations including assisting with client transactions on the Teller line as needed.Participate in and occasionally facilitate in-person morning huddles and end of day debriefs.Work on Saturdays as directed by management.Performs other duties as assigned; duties, responsibilities and/or activities may change or new ones may be assigned at any time with or without noticeComplies with all KeyBank policies and procedures, including without limitation, acting professionally at all times, conducting business ethically, avoiding conflicts of interest, and acting in the best interests of Key’s clients and Key.EducationHigh School Diploma , GED or equivalent business experience (required) orBachelor's Degree (preferred)Work ExperienceMinimum of 1 year of experience in developing current and new customer relationships, achieving sales goals, and building referral sources. Experience with sales is more important than financial services experience. KeyBank provides the tools and training, but we need relationship builders with a curious nature who are great at sparking conversations. (required)Understanding of consumer credit - including loan to value, debt to income and credit reports. (required)Foundational knowledge of sales and service techniques with clients, including tele-consulting, outside calling, prospecting, and networking. (required)Comfortable interacting with small business clients, overcoming objection, and asking fact-finding questions with the goal of being helpful. (preferred)Demonstrated experience with influencing business partners and leveraging centers of influence, as this role will require significant influence of partners such as Key Investment Services, Mortgage and Business Banking sales professionals. (required)Working knowledge of PCs (MS Windows and Office Products including Word, Excel, etc.). (required)Working knowledge of digital technology (mobile, apps, web-based browsing) and ability to educate clients on digital platforms and capabilities within Key (required)Licenses and CertificationsNotary License (preferred)SkillsIs knowledgeable about the client’s accounts and business with the bank and uses sound judgment with clients and transactions.Demonstrated ability to attain sales and referral goals through preset appointments and quality conversations leading to recommendations that support clients’ financial wellness goals, leveraging system generated lead lists, walk-ins, and professional contacts.Strong work ethic and high level of integrity.Excellent time management skills.Building and nurturing relationships with clients including identifying potential clients, engaging with them to understand their needs, and developing strategies to convert them into long-term clients. It also includes deepening relationships with existing clients by offering additional products and services that meet their evolving needs.Being attentive to client needs, resolving issues promptly, and ensuring a positive banking experience. Placement within the pay range may differ based upon various factors, including but not limited to skills, experience and geographic location.
