Job summary

OC Federal Credit Union is seeking a Personal Banker who serves as the financial liaison for members, helping improve financial wellness and tailor products to needs. You will open accounts, discuss credit union services, and develop a personalized financial strategy.

The role requires 1+ year cash handling, 2+ years sales/customer service, active listening and strong problem solving; an NMLS license is required or must be obtained within 20 days.

Qualifications

• College degree preferred.
• Minimum of 1 year cash handling experience.
• 2 years of sales and customer service experience required.
• Active listening and superb customer service skills.
• Positive energy and enthusiastic disposition required.
• NMLS license required at time of hire or achieved within 20 days of employment.
• Successful problem solver to resolve member’s inquiries.

Responsibilities

• Craft a personalized financial strategy with members to help reach financial goals.
• Assist members with opening new accounts and explain credit union products and services.
• Source lending opportunities and maintain a full loan pipeline to meet lending and referral goals.
• Participate in community events to grow membership and educate members on products and services.
• Frequently make outbound calls to members to promote credit union offerings.
• Operate a Teller window and process member transactions as needed.
• Assist Call Center with member inquiries as required.
• Adhere to regulatory and legal compliance within the branch.
• Present a professional appearance as the face of the Credit Union.
• Other duties as assigned.

Job Summary: The Personal Banker is the financial liaison to every member entering the branch and is focused on improving our member financial wellness. The Personal Banker works closely with members to understand their financial needs and recommend appropriate products to help our members make or save money and time through convenience services.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

• Works with members to craft a personalized financial strategy to assist them in reaching their financial goals.
• Assist members with opening new accounts, explaining credit union products and services, and resolving member concerns.
• Source new lending opportunities, ensuring a continuously full loan pipeline, meeting and exceeding personal lending goals as well as referral goals.
• Participates in community events with the intent of growing membership and educating members on the credit union’s products and services.
• Frequently performs outbound phone calls to existing Members to create awareness of credit union products and services.
• Operate a Teller window processing member transactions as needed.
• Periodically assists the Call Center in answering member inquiries.
• Adhere to regulatory and legal compliance within the branch.
• Present a professional appearance as you are the face of the Credit Union.

Physical Requirements/Work Environment: May lift up to 25 lbs.;Office work- must be able to use a PC and phone; hearing and sight are required to perform this job; may need to sit or stand for long periods of time in front of a computer. Must have a valid driver’s license to travel between branch locations and develop business in the community.
