Job summary

OneWell Health Care in California seeks a dedicated Personal Attendant to provide compassionate in-home care to individuals with IDD and Autism. You will assist with daily living activities, monitor health, and support independence in clients' homes or care facilities.

The role requires reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to follow care plans, document updates, and collaborate with nurses and therapists.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience as personal attendant or in healthcare is advantageous.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to follow care plans and instructions accurately.
• Capability to lift and move clients using proper safety equipment.
• Compassionate, patient, and dependable demeanor.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for client transport.
• Must pass background check and drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting).
• Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance comfort and quality of life.
• Support mobility and transfer needs, including use of lifts or assisting with beds, chairs, and vehicles.
• Prepare meals and assist with feeding as needed.
• Assist with self-administration of medications, reminders, prompts, and observation.
• Monitor and report changes in client condition to healthcare team or family.
• Perform light housekeeping, laundry, and organizing.
• Transport clients to medical appointments, errands, and recreational activities.
• Maintain daily records of activities, care provided, and client condition updates.
• Collaborate with nurses and therapists to ensure comprehensive care.
• Follow HIPAA compliance standards and confidentiality protocols.
