Job summary

Forest Hills Foods in Grand Rapids, MI seeks a Part-time Store Associate to support daily store operations and deliver excellent customer service. You will monitor policies, assist customers, stock shelves, and ensure safety and cleanliness. Prior retail experience and strong communication are preferred.

This role is part-time, on-site at Forest Hills Foods, with opportunities to grow within the SpartanNash family. Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds and work varied shifts.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Understand store layout and safety equipment locations.
• Conduct regular inspections and provide feedback to managers.
• In absence of store director or manager, manage time clock maintenance.
• May close store: lock doors, turn off lights, arm store.
• Know product locations to assist customers.
• Maintain a clean, attractive, well-stocked store.
• Follow PPE, safety, food safety, and cleaning expectations.
• Follow Guest Experience Guidelines.
• May be assigned tasks in other departments.
• Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.

Position Summary:

This role directs and coordinates activities of store operations in the absence of Store Director, Assistant Store Director or other management to obtain optimum efficiency and economy of operations to ensure that the work shifts of all department associates contribute the financial best interest of the store. Complete all other duties as assigned in a timely manner.

Here's what you'll do:

• Monitor associate's adherence to company policies.

• Able to run cashier register and courtesy counter desk and handle customer concerns in efficient manner.

• Understand and be familiar with store layout, location of safety and emergency equipment.

• Conduct regular inspections of all areas, providing feedback to department managers.

• In the absence of the Store Director or specified department manager, will be responsible for time clock maintenance.

• May close store: lock all doors, including receiving, turn off lights, arm store, etc.

• Knowledge of product locations in the store, in order to be able to assist customers.

• Maintain a clean, attractive and well stocked store.

• Follow all PPE and Safety Guidelines

• Follow all Food Safety and Cleaning Expectations

• Follow Guest Experience Guidelines

• May be assigned tasks in other departments based on customer experience need

• Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed
