Job summary

Blue Origin LLC is seeking a Solution Processed Coating Research Engineer to execute and optimize solution-processed deposition for thin-film layers in advanced perovskite photovoltaic devices. You will prepare precursor inks, run coating experiments, and contribute to process optimization, working hands-on in the lab alongside the lead engineer.

The role involves spin/blade/slot-die coating, annealing protocols, film characterization, and detailed documentation.

Qualifications

  • B.S. in chemical engineering, chemistry, materials science or related field.
  • Hands-on lab experience with solution-prepared coatings and wet chemistries.
  • Familiar with thin-film deposition, crystallization and film formation.
  • Experience with profilometry, optical microscopy, UV-Vis or related methods.
  • Proven safe handling of laboratory chemicals and solvents.
  • Strong documentation and organization for experimental work.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare precursor solutions and functional inks per formulations.
  • Operate spin coaters, blade coaters, and slot-die systems for films.
  • Conduct annealing and post-treatment protocols as required.
  • Characterize films with profilometry, microscopy, UV-Vis, and spectra.
  • Maintain lab notebooks and DOE campaign data with statistics.
  • Support ink shelf-life studies and process capability assessments.
