Job summary

Strata Clean Energy is seeking a Permitting Manager to plan and oversee discretionary land use and natural resources permitting across our Southwest portfolio. You will coordinate with Development, Land, Engineering, and Project Finance to ensure compliance and timely permit issuance for utility-scale solar and storage projects.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years of discretionary permit experience in the Southwestern U.S., strong stakeholder communication, and the ability to manage multiple

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental studies or a related field; master’s preferred.
  • Minimum five years’ experience obtaining discretionary permits in the Southwestern U.S.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with executives, AHJs, and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and lead project-specific permitting strategies across the project lifecycle.
  • Create and manage permitting schedules and budgets considering regulatory requirements and risks.
  • Source and supervise external consultants (environmental, legal, cultural resources, etc.).
  • Evaluate land-use, environmental, and regulatory constraints and propose mitigations.
  • Engage with regulators, AHJs, officials, and community stakeholders for project approvals.
  • Prepare presentation materials for hearings and support permit approvals.
  • Coordinate transition to EPC/O&M ensuring compliance with permit conditions.
  • Flag risks and schedule impacts to internal teams and leadership.
  • Travel regionally to support permitting activities as needed.
