Job summary

Southern California Edison (SCE) seeks a Permitting Business Strategy & Analytics Senior Advisor in Pomona, CA. You will lead enterprise-level strategy and analytics for CPO, transforming permitting data into insights guiding forecasting, workforce planning, risk mitigation, and operational performance.

The role creates scalable analytics frameworks, improves leadership visibility, and shifts from reactive reporting to proactive, data-driven decision-making across the organization.

Qualifications

• Ten or more years of experience in business operations analysis.
• Experience leading enterprise-level strategy, analytics, forecasting, or operational performance initiatives within an electric utility or regulated environment.
• Ability to influence senior leadership and translate complex data into strategic recommendations.

Responsibilities

• Drives analytical support to enterprise, optimizing data collection, analysis and reporting for major projects.
• Acts as a key consultant to stakeholders, presenting findings and recommendations impacting operations.
• Creates and monitors dashboards to track KPIs and support performance metrics.
• Evaluates processes to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
• Performs analyses of risk requirements and communicates mitigations to leadership.
• Meets with stakeholders to identify needs and provide updates through project completion.
• Develops scenarios to evaluate priorities and options for enterprise objectives.
• Collaborates with planning and performance teams on option sets for scenarios.
• Trains newly hired analysts through mentorship.
• Ensures processes align with laws and standards to safeguard assets and minimize risk.

Responsibilities

• Drives the delivery of analytical support to the enterprise, optimizing the collection, analysis and reporting of data, which enables successful completion of key business operations projects.
• Acts as a key consultant to stakeholders, presenting complex analytical findings and making recommendations as to their impact on business operations.
• Creates and monitors performance dashboards to track and analyze Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) in order to optimize process improvement activities, and support portfolio operations in developing performance metrics.
• Evaluates business operations processes and recommends actions to increase efficiency and productivity while reducing costs.
• Performs analyses and evaluates business operational risk requirements, identifying suitable risk mitigations and communicating them to leadership.
• Meets with stakeholders to identify their projects' specific requirements, recommends applicable tools, and provides periodic updates through to project completion.
• Optimizes the development of business plan scenarios to evaluate different priorities and potential options to achieving the enterprise's objectives.
• Works with business planning and performance management teams to develop option sets to meet business planning scenarios considering financial, operational, and regulatory risks and constraints.
• Trains newly hired analysts on various aspects of the job they will be undertaking through mentorship.
• Drives the validation of established processes to ensure alignment with relevant rules, principles, laws, and industry standards with the goal to safeguard assets, minimize errors, and ensure operational activities are performed to mitigate risk.
• A material job duty of all positions within the Company is ensuring the protection of all its physical, financial and cybersecurity assets, and properly accessing and managing private customer data, proprietary information, confidential medical records, and other types of highly sensitive information and data with the highest standards of conduct and integrity.

Minimum Qualifications

• Ten or more years of experience in business operations analysis.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience leading enterprise-level strategy, analytics, forecasting, or operational performance initiatives within an electric utility, infrastructure, construction, or regulated environment.
• Demonstrated ability to influence senior leadership and translate complex business data into strategic recommendations that drive organizational decisions.
• Proven experience leading cross-functional initiatives with Engineering, Construction, Finance, Regulatory, IT, operations, and/or external agency partners.
• Experience establishing performance frameworks, KPIs, dashboards, governance standards, and forecasting models that improve executive visibility and accountability.
• Strong understanding of utility operations, including T&D construction planning, permitting, resource planning, capital work execution, or agency coordination.
• Demonstrated leadership in continuous improvement, process optimization, change management, or enterprise transformation efforts.
• Ability to mentor analysts/advisors, build organizational analytics capability, and drive adoption of data-driven decision-making across teams.

Additional Information

• This position’s work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days. Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to work and reside in the state of California. Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage. The work mode can be changed based on business needs.
