Unalaska City School District is seeking a substitute instructor to provide instructional leadership for students within the district. You will support classroom activities and follow the written plans of teachers and site administrators.

Work will occur in a cross-cultural, rural Alaskan environment, requiring flexibility and commitment to student learning. The position emphasizes classroom management and daily responsibilities as described by district guidelines.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 20 instructional days total of successful LKSD substitute teacher experience.
• Demonstrated ability to work with students in a school setting.
• Ability to live and work in a cross-cultural, rural Alaskan environment.
• Ability to carry out successfully the duties described below.

Responsabilités

• Carries out classroom and other activities pursuant to the written plans of the teacher and/or the instructions of the Site Administrators.
• Meets and instructs assigned classes in the locations and at the times designed.
• Encourages students to set and maintain high standards of classroom behavior.
• Establishes and maintains cooperative relations with others.
• Is responsible for monitoring the behavior of all students within his sight and hearing during the workday.
• Supervises lunchrooms, playground, bus loading areas, etc.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
