Job summary

Jenks Public Schools is seeking a Permanent Substitute at Northwest Elementary in Tulsa, OK, with immediate start. The role reports to the Principal and carries a nine-month classified hourly contract, non-exempt status, with a pay rate of $15.40 per hour.

The substitute will meet and instruct classes, follow lesson plans, maintain order, and support student learning while adhering to district expectations and safety protocols.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Associate's degree preferred.
• Satisfy all district requirements with regard to physical health and citizenship.
• Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board of Education may find appropriate and acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Meets and instructs assigned classes in the locations and times designated.
• Provides classroom instruction to students as outlined in lesson plans or supervisor instructions.
• Maintains a safe and orderly environment.
• Maintains established routine of the school and classroom procedures in which they are assigned.
• Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
• Creates an environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of students.
• Maintains reasonable rules of conduct which encourage self-discipline and responsibility.
• Communicates effectively with staff and parents as needed.
• Collaborates with others to meet the needs of the school site.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Position Goal: Fulfill duties as assigned by the site for the proper functioning of the school.

Physical Demands:
