Job summary

ESS seeks a Permanent Paraprofessional in Lakewood, NJ to support students with special needs under teacher supervision. You will provide instructional reinforcement for individuals or small groups and assist with classroom management and materials preparation.

You may also work as a one-to-one aide, supervise during meals and field trips, and help meet students' physical, personal, academic, and emotional needs per IEP/504 plans. NJ requirements apply.

Qualifications

• HSD or GED required.
• Valid NJ criminal history letter.
• Negative tuberculosis test required prior to start of employment.

Responsibilities

• Perform other duties as directed by the classroom teacher and school administration.
• Facilitate diapering and toileting for students, following individualized care plans to ensure proper hygiene and comfort.

An ESSparaprofessionalassists the classroom teacher to provide extra support to students with special needs, promoting maximum academic and personal growth. The paraprofessional job responsibilities range from supplementing regular classroom curriculum to helping individual students.

Paraprofessionals are also known as school aides, teacher assistants, instructional aides, one-to-one aides, and personal care assistants.

Responsibilities
