Job summary

Performance Food Group is seeking a Produce Quality Specialist to check designated product quality and perform daily inventory on produce. You will remove spoiled items and ensure proper dating, rotation, and packaging to minimize waste.

You will communicate with customers, vendors, and co-workers to address questions promptly and work as part of the team to support the department and company’s goals.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED or Equivalent Experience.
• 6-12 months Procurement, warehouse and/or administrative experience in related area.
• 1-2 years Procurement, warehouse and/or administrative experience in related area within foodservice industry.
• OSHA Forklift Operator certification.

Responsibilities

• Perform assigned duties efficiently to reduce spoilage and support profit margin; coordinate with the cooler Receiving Department on perishable items.
• Communicate with customers and vendors in a friendly, timely and quality manner; ensure inquiries are answered accurately.
• Determine quality of products returned by customers; collaborate with Returns Clerk on returned produce quality.
• Check quality of produce and ensure proper rotation and dating of products daily.
• Break/repack full cases to small cases in a timely and efficient manner to reduce spoilage and inventory loss.
• Check for dating issues on designated products daily; remove short-dated and bad product from inventory.
• Keep inventory counts current.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
