Job summary

Vanderbilt Tullahoma-Harton Hospital in Tullahoma, TN is seeking a Director, Surgical Services to lead perioperative operations across OR, Pre-Op, PACU, and related areas, ensuring clinical excellence and operational efficiency.

Reporting to the Chief Nursing Officer, the Director will build partnerships with physicians and anesthesia teams, drive growth in GI and Urology, and guide quality, safety, and financial performance.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (RN) required.
• Master's degree required; MSN preferred.
• Minimum of three years of progressive hospital leadership experience.
• Leadership experience within Operating Room/Surgical Services required.
• Strong knowledge of perioperative operations including OR, PACU, Same-Day Surgery, and Sterile Processing.
• Experience with Pathway to Excellence program.
• Proven ability to build collaborative relationships with physicians, anesthesia teams, and multidisciplinary stakeholders.
• Demonstrated success leading operational improvement, quality initiatives, and departmental growth.
• Strong financial, business, and resource management skills.
• Exceptional communication, leadership, team building, and conflict resolution abilities.
• Visible, engaged leader in dynamic environment; growth-oriented.
• Academic Medical Center experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all aspects of perioperative services (OR, Pre-Op, PACU, Sterile Processing, Outpatient Surgery, GI, Procedural Services).
• Direct reports: two Managers; partner with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and CRNAs.
• Lead growth initiatives for service lines including GI and Urology.
• Drive quality, safety, patient experience, operational efficiency, and financial performance initiatives.
