Job summary

The University of Rochester's Sawgrass Surgery Center in Rochester, NY is seeking perioperative/perianesthesia nurses to provide direct patient care from pre-op through recovery. You will collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to ensure high-quality, safe care throughout the patient’s stay.

FT (40 hours), day shifts, in a fast-paced perianesthesia environment. Strong assessment and teamwork skills are essential, with a commitment to excellence and compassionate care.

Responsibilities

• General Purpose: Accountable for provision of competent direct patient care based on established standards.
• Contributes to unit activities and supports enhancement of the care delivery system at the unit level.
• Supports peers in the delivery of patient care services and assumes an expanded role which may include charge nurse, preceptor, and committee member responsibilities.
• FT (40) positions available- 8 or 10 shifts

• In the pre/post-operative setting, qualified candidates will be responsible for meeting individual patient needs from pre op to recovery by assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating nursing care.
• Through collaboration with other members of the interdisciplinary healthcare team you will care for patients across the lifespan.
• The pre/post-op nurse will have an integral role in delivering high quality, safe, compassionate care to patients throughout their stay at Sawgrass Surgery Center.
• Strong assessment, teamwork and interpersonal skills required.
