Job summary

Townsen Memorial Surgery Center - River Oaks is seeking a PRN Registered Nurse in the Operating Room. The RN provides direct patient care, follows nursing processes, and collaborates with the surgical team to ensure patient safety and effective outcomes.

Texas RN license is required with BLS, ACLS, and PALS (within 90 days). Prior intra-operative experience preferred; strong leadership and communication are essential for this role.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
• Current, active Texas RN license required.
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications (PALS within 90 days of hire).
• One year of intra-operative care experience preferred.
• Demonstrates ability to work in a fast-paced OR environment with leadership and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Develops and updates the plan of care with patient and family using nursing process.
• Maintains patient safety and quality standards in the OR.
• Supervises care in a single operating room and coordinates with the surgical team.
• Documents patient care accurately and timely.
• Responds to emergencies and ensures availability of supplies and equipment.
• Communicates patient status effectively to team members and leadership.
