Job summary

The Operating Room nurse at FirstHealth of the Carolinas provides direct and individualized perioperative care. You will work with surgeons, anesthesia, and scrub staff to ensure safe, efficient intraoperative processes and patient comfort.

You will apply the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care, maintain infection control, and document accurately while prioritizing safety and patient education across diverse age groups in a fast-paced OR setting.

Qualifications

• Experience with perioperative nursing and operating room procedures.
• Ability to assess, plan, and evaluate patient care intra-operatively.
• Sets up and manages equipment, maintains infection control.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, and evaluate patient care using the nursing process.
• Coordinate with surgical team to prepare for intraoperative procedures.
• Maintain patient safety, infection control, and equipment readiness.
• Document shifts and communicate using SBAR.
