Job summary

The University of Southern California is seeking a perioperative Registered Nurse to join an interdisciplinary team. You will apply the nursing process to plan and deliver care across preoperative, intraoperative and postoperative phases, ensuring patient safety and optimal outcomes.

Strong communication, a CA RN license, BSN, and 1 year OR experience are required. You will collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and anesthesia technicians, maintain documentation in Cerner, and support

Qualifications

BSN required; California RN licensure.
At least 1 year OR experience in an acute setting.
Excellent English communication and documentation skills.
Knowledge of whole blood collection and apheresis procedures per policy.

Responsibilities

Adhere to Universal Patient Safety Goals in all areas of practice.
Maintain sterile field labeling safety and task accuracy on and off the sterile field.
Document care plans, charges, and specimens in a timely manner using Cerner.
Communicate information to staff using SBAR during handoffs.
Support perioperative team and ensure patient safety and flow throughout the surgical care continuum.
Follow policies, Title 22 and JCAHO Standards; participate in unit improvement activities.
