Job summary

Cooper University Health Care in Camden, NJ is seeking a Perioperative Care Technician to support the clinical team with indirect patient care and OR room turnover, equipment gathering, and room setup for each case.

This full-time role requires 6:30 AM–3 PM shifts, weekend and holiday rotation, and current NJ-BLS certification. Acute care hospital experience and good visual/auditory acuity are preferred. Salary and benefits align with firm standards.

Responsibilities

• Assist clinical team with indirect patient care and OR room turnover.

• Set up OR rooms for next case and position necessary equipment.
• Take specimens to the lab and handle returns to CSP.
• PCT remains on your feet throughout shift; supportive footwear required.

Short Description

Assists the Clinical team in providing indirect patient care, plus has nonpatient care responsibilities to include but not limited to:

• Room turnover: includes taking out the trash, cleaning all areas of the OR, including the OR table, making the table up, and mopping the floor
• Gathering equipment, supplies, and instrumentation for surgical cases
• Changing OR tables when necessary
• Room set up: setting up the entire OR room for the next case or first case of the day; this includes making the bed, having necessary equipment in the room positioned appropriately for the case
• Taking specimens to the lab
• Take returns to CSP and put returns away that live in the OR upstairs.
• PCT will be on your feet, the entire shift, so comfortable, supportive footwear is needed

Experience Required

• Acute Care Hospital experience preferred (i.e.: Nursing Assistant, Unit Secretary, PCS, etc.)
• Visual and auditory acuity for information retrieval and computer monitor use

Education Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred

License/Certification Requirements

• Current NJ-BLS Certification (Basic Life Support)

• Weekend, holiday and rotation required
