Job summary

The Bronx VAMC is seeking a Perioperative Nurse Manager who will oversee the nursing process and supervise direct patient care in the perioperative setting. This role demands clinical leadership, robust assessment, planning, and coordination across the surgical team.

The Nurse Manager will ensure compliance with VA standards, mentor staff, and drive evidence-based practice while maintaining patient safety, quality care, and service delivery across shifts.

Qualifications

• English language proficiency required for direct patient care
• Nursing degree from an approved program with active RN license
• State licensure required or in progress (GNT exception details)

Responsibilities

• Validate understanding of care processes and rationale
• Lead and supervise nursing staff in perioperative care
• Coordinate care across the interdisciplinary team
