Chesapeake Regional Healthcare in Chesapeake, VA, seeks a PeriOp Clinical Nurse Educator to lead initial and ongoing education and competency assessment across assigned units, developing technical, psychomotor and critical thinking skills.
The role collaborates with Nursing Services to ensure ongoing staff competency, supports orientation programs, and drives evidence-based practice while maintaining clinical standards.
The Clinical Nurse Educator is responsible for the initial and ongoing education and competency assessment and evaluation process within the assigned units. The Nurse Educator assists Nursing Services and provides programs and training to enhance the development of technical, psychomotor, and critical thinking domains. The Nurse Educator will maintain clinical competency in order to best assess and assist the needs of the units assigned.

Minimum Required Education: MSN, or BSN with completion of eligible MSN program within 2 years.
Experience: 3+ years in an inpatient acute care facility and in an area of specialty clinical responsibility.
Minimum Required: Applicant must be licensed to work as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia or compact state. Must maintain BLS. Other certifications as required of nurses working in the clinical area assigned.
Preferred to have certification in Perioperative services field, or must be obtained within 2 years of hire.
