Job summary

Hartford HealthCare's Hartford Hospital is seeking an OR Aide to assist in the delivery of direct and indirect patient care in the perioperative period and to help maintain the operating room environment from a safety perspective.

Reporting to the Perioperative Coordinator or OR Clinical Supervisor, you will transport supplies and patients, assist with case setup, room turnover, and ensure clean, ready-to-use equipment while following disinfection procedures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• CPR training required.
• Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
• Previous patient care experience preferred.
• O2 transportation experience preferred.
• Knowledge of aseptic technique preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver and retrieve equipment, supplies, documents, x-rays, blood products, etc. needed in providing patient care.
• Provide safe and efficient transport of patients and respond to emergencies when transporting.
• Assist nursing personnel in case breakdown and set-up; assist in room turnover and disinfection.
• Keep corridors, floors and common areas neat and clean; ensure proper waste removal and disinfecting procedures.
• Within scope of role, assist with patient care under the direct supervision of the Registered Nurse.
