Job summary

Nova Southwestern University in Fort Lauderdale invites applications for adjunct faculty in the College of Dental Medicine to assist with the clinical and didactic training of dental students under the Department Chair of Periodontics.

The position is non-exempt, pay basis hourly, and involves teaching across classrooms, simulation labs, clinics, and other settings, with required NSU trainings such as HIPAA and Canvas.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of dental medicine and treatment planning.
• Education/training design and teaching methods.
• Strong English language skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver instruction to Dental students.
• Facilitate activities in classroom, simulation lab, clinic, and other settings.
• Act as liaison between students and faculty course director.
• Provide and facilitate examinations and assign grades.
• Teaches or facilitates classes across varied schedules.
• Follow the course curriculum as assigned.
• Prepare assignments and evaluate student performance.
• Maintain an active classroom environment conducive to student learning.
• Assess educational needs and patient teaching needs using various methods.
• Demonstrate patient care in clinical units.
• Complete NSU mandatory trainings (HIPAA, Canvas, etc.).
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
