Job summary

Sharp HealthCare is seeking a Perinatal Sonographer for the Maternal Fetal Medicine clinic in San Diego. The role requires advanced-level perinatal and obstetric ultrasound expertise, documentation accuracy, and patient-centered care in a fast-paced, high-risk pregnancy setting.

The candidate must hold an AMA-approved sonography program credential, RDMS, and BLS. RDMS-FE within one year is required; nuchal translucency certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• Completion of an AMA approved formal training program in sonography.
• At least 1 year of obstetric sonography experience.
• AHA BLS Healthcare Provider certification is required.
• Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) is required.

Responsibilities

• Perform advanced-level perinatal and obstetric ultrasounds assessing fetal development on high-risk pregnancies.
• Ensure accurate documentation and image archiving in patient records.
• Monitor and ensure exam quality and safety per department guidelines.
• Explain procedures to patients and maintain patient comfort, privacy, and dignity during examinations.
