Perinatal OR Technician (CST), Sign-on Bonus of $20,000

Department: Labor & Delivery 6480

Location: Lawrence, MA

Shift: Evening, 3:00pm - 11:30pm

Lawrence General Hospital is offering a Perinatal OR Tech Bonus.

Sign-on bonus of $12,000.00 for 24 hours

As the Perinatal OR Tech, you will be under the direct supervision of the Nurse Manager or Director of Maternal Child Health. The technician performs technical and ancillary duties in Labor and Delivery (L&D) according to established policies and procedures and standards set by the hospital, AWHONN, and AORN. Support the Labor & Delivery staff in providing care to obstetrical patients, especially those requiring surgical intervention.

Responsibilities:

1. Perform Surgical Tech roles in procedures related to OB patient care, following standards.
2. Maintain knowledge of surgical asepsis, pre-operative procedures in the delivery room, and scrubbing for Cesarean Sections and other minor GYN procedures as necessary.
3. Maintain a clean and safe environment in the OB OR suite, including counts of instruments, sponges, and needles; proper handling and cleaning of surgical instruments; and proper cleaning and setup of the OR suite.
4. Perform Surgical Tech duties including scrubbing, procedure setup, and case turnover.
5. Clean, restock, and reset the OB OR suite and delivery rooms, including surgical setups, delivery carts, warmers, and resuscitation areas.
6. Assist in emergency situations in L&D as needed or assigned.
7. Assist in transporting patients to and from the OB OR and postpartum units.

Requirements:

1. High school diploma or equivalent required.
2. Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) required.
3. Will train a new graduate but certification is necessary.
4. Experience in L&D preferred but not required.
