Qualifications

• Knowledge of trauma-informed care and co-occurring disorder group treatment.

Position Summary

The Perinatal and Maternal Outpatient Therapist will provide gender-responsive, evidence-based services to pregnant and parenting adults with co-occurring substance use and mental health disorders at the Horizons Orange County site located in Carrboro, NC. Responsibilities include conducting comprehensive clinical assessments, developing initial substance use and co-occurring treatment plans, documenting therapeutic encounters, providing brief counseling, and facilitating gender-responsive therapeutic groups within a multidisciplinary perinatal program.

Key responsibilities

• Promote treatment engagement, stabilization, and consultation in a gender-responsive substance use disorder treatment program
• Contribute to a group-focused treatment environment, including regular facilitation and co-facilitation of therapeutic and psychoeducational groups
• Collaborate within an interdisciplinary care team to support coordinated, person-centered treatment

*Required license: LCSW , LCAS , LMFT , or LCMHC , or provisional license

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in a Human Services discipline with coursework related to the area of assignment. Some positions may require certification to practice as a certified or licensed Clinical Social Worker as required by the North Carolina Social Work Certification Board.

Management Preferences

• Experience in treating co-occurring substance use and mental health disorders among women
• Knowledge of trauma-informed care and co-occurring disorder group treatment
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary treatment team
