Allina Health’s Internal Resource Pool is seeking registered nurses for travel assignments across system hospitals. The IRP team works per diem or multi‑week rotations, providing advanced nursing care with autonomy and strong teamwork.

Positions include 8- to 12-hour day/evening/night shifts, no weekends, and assignments at multiple hospitals after orientation. Must be willing to travel among Minneapolis area facilities according to needs.

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree in Nursing required.
• 2+ years of Critical Care RN experience.
• 1+ years Perianesthesia (Phase I/II) with ventilated/hemodynamic patients.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred.
• 1+ years Travel Nurse experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive patient and family assessments and plan care.
• Maintain competencies to deliver high-quality patient care.
• Apply evidence-based nursing practices per regulations.
• Set measurable patient outcomes with patient and family input.
• Coordinate, delegate and collaborate to ensure safe care.
• Fulfill organizational requirements and may serve as Charge Nurse or Preceptor as needed.

Job Summary

The Allina Health Internal Resource Pool (IRP) Team is an internal team of Registered Nurses who travel, within their specialty, to multiple different sites for either Per Diem or multi‑week assignments throughout our system hospitals.

Members of the IRP team are highly skilled, adaptable, affirmative, adept at working autonomously, and demonstrate strong teamwork in many different work settings.

Job Description

Principle Responsibilities

• Comprehensive assessment of patient and family needs; identification of outcomes based on needs assessment; establishing the plan of care; supervising the progress; and modification of the plan of care as needed.
• Maintain education and competencies to remain proficient to provide high quality patient care practice and skills.
• Incorporate evidence-based nursing practice taking into consideration current statutes, rules and regulations when developing the plan of care.
• Establish, in the collaboration with the family and patient, realistic and measurable patient expected outcomes based on nursing diagnoses, patients present and potential capabilities, goals, available resources and plan for continuity of care.
• Identify outcomes that are age appropriate, culturally appropriate, realistic and attainable.
• Coordinates, collaborates, and delegates appropriately to ensure care is provided in a safe, effective fashion.
• Fulfill all organizational requirements.
• Supplemental roles:
  • Charge Nurse (only when acting in this role).
    • Demonstrates ability to coordinate, delegate, and direct unit operation, collaborates effectively with unit staff, leadership and other disciplines.
  • Preceptor (only when acting in this role).
    • Demonstrates ability to identify the orientee’s learning needs, plans appropriate learning experiences and demonstrates ability to validate clinical competence of orientee.
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree in Nursing
• 2+ years (within one year) Critical Care RN experience
• 1+ years Phase I and Phase II Perianesthesia experience including ability to care for patients on ventilators and patients with hemodynamic instability

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree Nursing
• 1+ years Travel Nurse experience

Licenses/Certifications

• Licensed Registered Nurse - MN Board of Nursing If working in the state of MN required upon hire or
• Licensed Registered Nurse - WI Dept of Safety & Professional Services If working in the state of WI required upon hire
• Must meet at least ONE of the requirements below:
  • Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association
  • Current BLS certification from the American Red Cross
  • Allina in-house BLS training (within 30 days of hire)
• Pediatric Advance Life Support (PALS) is required within 180 days of hire
• CPAN American Board of Perianesthesia Nursing Certification preferred
• CAPA American Board of Perianesthesia Nursing Certification preferred

Physical Demands

Pay Range

Flat Rate: $65.00 per hour

*This position is paid on a standard non-negotiable hourly rate. Shift, weekend and/or other differentials may be available to increase your pay rate for certain shifts or work.
