Penn Medicine Lancaster General Health, Main Pre/Post-Op Unit serves as the hub for patients preparing for surgery and recovering afterward, as well as those undergoing procedures and testing requiring anesthesia support. This 23-bed unit cares for patients across the lifespan and supports all surgical and procedural patients scheduled in the Main Operating Room, creating a dynamic environment where no two days are exactly the same.
We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse with at least 3+ years of clinical nursing experience, preferably with both preoperative and postoperative nursing experience. The ideal candidate is confident working independently, while also collaborating closely with Patient Care Assistants and an interdisciplinary team to deliver safe, efficient, and exceptional patient care.
Success in this role requires strong clinical judgment, adaptability, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced setting where patient needs can change quickly. Equally important is a commitment to teamwork, professionalism, communication, and mutual respect. We believe great patient outcomes start with a supportive team culture where colleagues help one another, value diverse perspectives, and work together to provide the highest level of care.
If you enjoy caring for a diverse patient population, take pride in delivering outstanding perioperative care, and value being part of a collaborative, patient-focused team, we invite you to join us.
