Job summary

UF Health in Gainesville, Florida, seeks a qualified Perfusionist to support cardiopulmonary support during bypass procedures. The role emphasizes patient-centered care, operating extracorporeal circulation equipment, and managing physiologic parameters with on-call responsibilities.

Required are a Bachelors or Masters degree and ABCP certification within one year of hire, with prior perfusion experience in student or practitioner capacity.

Responsibilities

• Operates extracorporeal circulation equipment during situations requiring support or replacement of cardiopulmonary function, monitoring physiologic variables.
• Prepares and administers blood products and prescription solutions through bypass circuitry.
• Regularly participates in the on call schedule

Responsibilities

In this role the Perfusionist will perform the following job duties:

• Provides functions necessary for the support, treatment, measurement or supplementation of the cardiopulmonary and circulatory system of the patient.
• Operates extracorporeal circulation equipment during any medical situation where it is necessary to support or replace the patient's cardiopulmonary/circulatory function and ensures the proper management of physiologic functions by monitoring the necessary variables.
• Prepares and administers blood products and prescription solutions through bypass circuitry.
• Regularly participates in the on call schedule

Shift hours: Variable

Days of week: Monday-Friday

Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

• Bachelors of Science in Perfusion, other Bachelors Degree or Masters Degree required
• Must obtain ABCP certification within 1 year of hire date
• Experience as a Perfusionist, in a student capacity or independent practitioner
