Job summary

Amsect in Colorado Springs seeks a experienced perfusionist to operate and maintain extracorporeal circulation equipment and provide cardiopulmonary support during various procedures.

The role requires CCP certification, state licensure as applicable, and CPR/BLS validity through the start date. You will collaborate on policy development and participate in ongoing perfusion research within a fast-paced clinical setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in related field and completion of an accredited Perfusionist program.
• State licensure required by law; CCP certification preferred.
• BLS/CPR certification with in‑hand card before start date; valid through start date.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, calibrate, maintain, and clean perfusion equipment and circuits.
• Provide and document clinical perfusion care for procedures including cardiopulmonary support, ECMO, VAD, and IABP.
• Assist with development, implementation, and evaluation of perfusion policies and procedures.
• Participate in clinical perfusion research and evaluation of new equipment.
• Demonstrate critical thinking, decisive judgment, and ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.

Job description

Summary: Operates extracorporeal circulation equipment to provide extracorporeal circulation and cardiopulmonary support.

Responsibilities

• Performs assembly, calibration, maintenance, and cleaning of perfusion equipment and circuits.
• Provides and documents clinical perfusion care in connection with a variety of surgical and non-surgical procedures, including cardiopulmonary support or bypass, autotransfusion, adult and pediatric extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO), ventricular assist devices (VAD), and intra-aortic balloon pump (IABP).
• Assists with the development, implementation, and evaluation of perfusion policies, standards, and procedures.
• May participate in or perform clinical perfusion research. Stays abreast of current and developing advances in field. Participates in the evaluation and selection of new equipment.
• Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.

Pay: $75.67 - $105.93 / hour. Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in related field and graduate of an accredited Perfusionist program.
• State licensure if required by law. Certified as a Clinical Perfusionist (CCP) by the American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion (ABCP).
• BLS through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer with card in-hand before start date. BLS or CPR card must be good through sixty days of hire.
